I started this blog because I wanted to document all the important moments in our lives. Well this particular moment might not be an important one but it is definitely one worth remembering.. and sharing with others! Dennis had yesterday off and those of you that follow me on Twitter and Instagram you saw why I like it when Dennis has the day off and the weather is nice enough for him to BBQ.
Dennis’ parents got us a new BBQ for Christmas because our old one was not doing so good. It had actually belonged to his uncle so it had been used a lot and it was hitting the point where it wouldn’t start very easy. So he calls me yesterday afternoon right as I was walking out of my office to head home and this is how the conversation goes.
Dennis – So I got the BBQ all hooked up and it started really easy
Me – Oh really, that’s good
Dennis – Yeah… but then it started to smell like something was burning
Me – What’s wrong with it?
Dennis – Nothing.. I fixed it…
Me – ummm ok…
Dennis (said as if he just remembered something important) – Oh! By the way, we don’t have a manual for it anymore
Me – ………….aaand why not
Dennis – well my dad must have left them inside the BBQ and they kinda caught on fire, but don’t worry I was able to save the one that I think we’ll need for the warranty.
You better believe I was laughing at him. I might be wrong here, but isn’t it always a good idea so look inside the BBQ before you start it? He’s normally really good about that kind of stuff so I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he was distracted or in a hurry or something. He turned off the BBQ and ran inside to grab a cup of water to put out the fire.
Men… you gotta love ’em
