It’s been a while since I’ve done a book review on a book that hasn’t been part of the Blogger 2 Blogger Book Club. After I haven’t really been hooked by the books we’ve read the last few months I decided that I needed to take a few weeks and read something else to remind myself why I love to read. I had read Married to Maggie by Jan Romes a few months ago and really enjoyed it so I took this time to get myself caught up on the series.
These books were exactly the love/drama filled kind of books that I needed. They are the kind of books that I find myself getting lost in. They grab your attention and keep you wanting more. Now I like a steamy book as much as the next person, however it’s nice to have a few books where the heavy sexual content isn’t every other chapter. While these books are full of sexual tension between characters they keep the hot and steamy parts to a minimum.
I absolutely love that these books take place in Texas. I mean, honestly, who doesn’t love a Texas boy?! So far my favorite male character has been Jake. I liked that while he had money he was generous with it and didn’t have super flashy things. It seems like in these kind of books the rich guys come across as players and it was nice to have a male lead that hadn’t jumped in bed with a bunch of people. My favorite female character was Kaylee. I’m not sure what it was about her, but I really enjoyed reading her story and I think she was the easiest to relate to.
In case you were wondering, this series doesn’t end after just three books. I’m hoping the next book will be out soon, but we’ll have to ask the lovely Jan Romes, who will be stopping by in the near future to do a little Q&A, when we can expect Not Without Nacy.
Alright crazy ladies, I hope y’all have a great weekend! Mine will be full of arenacross, maternity pictures and pedicures!
