Saturday was our annual Christmas baking day! BB and I have sugar cookies down to a science and they are our favorite things to bake this time of year.
I would just like to note that this year I actually have pictures to prove is where as last year I was a little to liquored up to remember to take any. Now you would think that with everything going on this would be the year that I would be toasted but I decided to be present and fully accounted for so that I could fully enjoy the day. Best decision because we made more memories than I can even count.
BB and I also spent some time making little bows for LiLee, but that’s a post for another day.
Since J-Man had other things go on during the day – I swear that kid has a bigger social calendar than I do – BB and I baked the cookies early in the day and then SS and her kiddos came over around 8pm and we got the kids good and sugared up.
The way these two interact together is absolutely hilarious. They are meant to be life long friends the way they can go from laughing to arguing to hugging. From the way Miss. E attempts to boss him around to the way J-Man will flat out ignore her even though she is sitting right next to him pulling on his arm proves that he is going to be an amazing big brother when little LiLee gets here.
Something you should know about decorating cookies around these parts. At least once a year they end in an frosting war. In case you’re new to these parts let me direct you towards the Great Fall War of 2012 and the Big Birthday War of 2013. This was Miss. E’s first frosting war and the look on her face was priceless! She never fulling came around to the idea of doing it. She kept telling us to “stop fighting”. Maybe next year she’ll enjoy it a little more.
Before I end this post I think a little update on BB and my niece to be, LiLee, is in order! We’re a little over a month away from D-Day and I might be a little biased but I think her bump is getting even more cute by the day!
Do you guys have any fun baking traditions this time of year?
