If you follow me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook you already know exactly what I was doing on Friday night. I was in Seattle with Jennifer watching the amazing Shania Twain kick off her #RockThisCountry tour!!
I grew up listening to Shania Twain. My friends and I even dressed up in white t-shirts and jean jackets and danced to “Any Man of Mine” for the talent show! I’m sure my parents have video of it somewhere. Needless to say I knew that I was going to this concert the second it was announced. Then she announced that this would be her last time going on our tour. I had already planned to buy tickets before I even knew if I would have someone to go with me.
We decided to just get the cheap seats and as we were sitting there after the opener had performed and we were waiting for her to come out I had to literately hold back tears just thinking about the fact that I was finally getting to see her live. I looked over at Jennifer and said, “no judging if I cry tonight.. She’s like the female George Strait for me and I still can’t believe I’m sitting here waiting to see her live.”
I tweeted the above picture with those words and a few minutes later my phone went off with a twitter notification letting me know that someone had retweeted it. When I saw her name I started to get excited, but still wasn’t 100% sure it was her. My hands were shaking as I was trying to click to see that little blue check mark while I was saying “oh my god. oh my god. oh my god.” and Jennifer was looking at me like I was loosing it saying “what? What? WHAT?!”
Sure enough there that sweet little blue check mark was!! I honestly don’t know how I didn’t cry. I was shaking and texting everyone I knew. Five minutes later there she was up on stage rocking the crap out of Key Arena!
She put on an amazing show! Not to mention the women was out there in thigh high red leather boots!! She had more than one way of going out over or into the crowd which was awesome. It was great knowing every song that she sang. Even with the cheap seats I can honestly say that it was one of my favorite concerts!
