Tomorrow is a pretty big deal to girls like me and a few of my friends. Girls who have watched this movie more times than we can count. Girls who can not only quote most of the movie, but still laugh like it’s the first time we’ve ever seen it.
HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY MEAN GIRLS!!!
In honor of this holiday I’ve decided to share a few life lessons we learned from this great movie…
1} “Ex-boyfriends are just off-limits to friends. I mean, that’s just, like, the rules of feminism!”
Gretchen has a point. Dating a friend’s ex is just asking for trouble. Especially if you start dating right after they do. I started dating a guy in high school like 3 months after my best friend and while him and I ended up dating for 3 years, my friendship with her was ok at first and then it slowly started to fall apart. Don’t get me wrong, there are ways to make it work. We were young and immature but if there is years between the two relationships and it’s been talked out by all parties then maybe it could work out. It also depends pretty heavily on how their relationship ended. All I’m saying, is be careful.
2} “I pretended to be bad at math so you would help me.”
You should never have to pretend to be something you’re not to get a guys attention. Like in the movie, there’s a good chance that if he’s the right kind of guy, he’ll talk to you without you having to dumb yourself down to make the conversation work. Also like in the movie, there is a good chance that sometime in your relationship he’ll tell you something that’s wrong, be careful about when you choose to correct him.
3} “You wouldn’t buy a skirt without asking your friends if it looks good on you right?”
Right! And thanks to SnapChat this is now a lot easier and you don’t look crazy for having a crap ton of pictures of yourself in dressing room mirrors on your phone.
4} “There are two kinds of evil people. People who do evil stuff, and people who see evil stuff being done and don’t try to stop it.”
5} ” On Wednesdays we wear pink”
I think this one pretty much explains it’s self 😉
