After my Adventures in Wedding Planning post last month, I had a few people ask me what I have been using to keep myself organized while planning our wedding. Like any bride, I had taken to Pinterest to try and find the perfect checklist. I found a few that I liked, but not exactly what I was looking for. After a few frustrating days I decided to just make my own. Having everything broke down by month keeps me from feeling to overwhelmed by the long list of things that comes with planning your perfect day.
I have a 5.5 x 8.5 binder that I take with me everywhere. I’ll share more on that another day, but that is where I keep my checklist. I didn’t want to have a special binder just for wedding planning because that would just be one more thing that I have to carry around. I even got some of these 5.5×8.5 sheet protectors to put at the back of my wedding section to hold receipts and such that I don’t want to loose.
If you’re wondering why I need a to-do list when I have the checklist, here’s why. There are some things that I want to detail a little more and things that I think of randomly like “Get addresses from Mama.” Having an extra spot to write them down is awesome. If I didn’t have it, I would be updating and reprinting my checklist on a weekly basis.
You can find all the sheets I’m using to plan my wedding on my Etsy shop! The package includes the 12 Month Wedding Planning Checklist and blank Note, Shopping List and To-Do List Pages. You can get it in 5.5×8 (which is what I use) or 8.5×11. Be sure to include your wedding date in the “Notes to Seller” box at checkout so we can set the months to fit your planning schedule. Is your wedding date less than 12 months away? No worries. For an additional $5 we can customize your checklist to fit into your engagement. The listing is for a DIGITAL FILE that YOU PRINT. All files will come in PDF format with instructions on how to print single or double sided.
Planning your wedding can be stressful, but it should also be fun. This is a day that you’ll remember forever and a time for you and your fiance to celebrate your love for each other with all your friends and family. I can honestly say that having this checklist has kept me semi-sane. I would be scared to see what I would be like if I didn’t have it.
