Summer is just around the corner. Although with the temperatures around here lately, you’d think it already arrived. Summer is not my favorite season. I absolutely hate being hot. I love summer nights when you can stay outside later because it doesn’t get super cold, but during the day is a totally different story. Seeing as how I dislike it so much I figured I’d take a few minutes to share a few of the things that are a must have for this girl to be happy during the summer.
Old Navy Flip Flops
I quite literately have these bad boys in every color. We’re talking a big RubberMaid drawer filled with them. That being said, black is pretty much my go-to pair. I’ll easily go through two pairs of these puppies during one summer season.
A Good Pair of Sunglasses
Whether it’s for t-ball games or just hanging out while the nieces/nephews play a good pair of sunglasses are a must! Without them I’ll end up with a headache and then the fun is over. I don’t actually have this pair, but they are on my wish list and I’m hoping to get them sometime this summer.
A Good Tank Top
I bought my first of these tank tops from Old Navy a few years ago and I now have it in almost every color. I’m not a huge fan of clothes that are super fitted so these are my all time favorite tank tops! I think the buttons on the front add just enough something to make them not seem to frumpy. Whether I pair them with yoga pants or jeans it’s always a win in my book. Maurices has a lot of super cute tanks this year! I’ve bought probably six new tops over the last few weeks.
An Easy, Cute Up-Do
I have long dark hair. For those of you that have the same, I’m sure you know how important it is to have an easy up-do that’s also cute and doesn’t look frumpy. I do my own version of the Twisted UpDo from The Small Things Blog. Rather than starting with curled hair, I just blow dry the top part of my hair enough that I can add a little volume to it with teasing and then I gel the bottom half that’s still a little damp. The rest I do like she does. Since my hair is almost to my butt my bun is much bigger than hers. I’ve learned that doing it this way keeps me from getting headaches because my hair is pulled to tight.
So tell me, what are some of the things you need to make it through summer?
