I was really hoping to finish the book I’m currently reading so that I could write a review on it, but work has been pretty busy lately and I’m not quite done with it yet. I realized that I never wrote a review for the first book so I’m just gonna go ahead and do that now… better late than never I always say!
Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.
I am a huge fan of Colleen Hoover’s books and this one was no different. I think she does a great job at the beginning of writing about Sky’s internal battle between wanting to be closer to Holder and thinking he’s not good for her. I think we’ve all been there at least once in our life. As I was reading and more of the story line started to fall into place I was blown away by the grace she used to touch on such a difficult topic. I love Sky. Holder took a little longer to grow on me, but by the end of the book I loved them together. The bond they have is one that I think everyone should experience at least once in a life time. Amazing book, way to go Colleen Hoover!!
