Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had an amazing, long weekend. Mine was full of making memories, but it sure did go by fast. I woke up Friday with a full day ahead of me, complete with a coffee date, wedding stuff, shopping and a country concert! This girls heart was smiling from the second her eyes popped open.
I’m sure most of you, at least those of you that listen to country music, have heard the song Burning House by Cam. Thursday night I saw on her instagram feed that she would be doing a coffee date at a local coffee-house Friday morning. I’ve loved her music since Jennifer introduced me to her song My Mistake last spring. A fun little fact, I actually had a phone interview scheduled with her to do a KL Asks Country post, but I got called to jury duty and had to cancel. She was the whole reason I wanted to go to the concert on Friday night so there was no way I was going to miss this coffee date.
I’ve done a few meet and greet events, but this was by far the best one. It was super casual, intimate and fun. There was only about 10 people there and we literally just sat around the table, drinking coffee and talking. There wasn’t any of the pressure, or rushed feeling that normally comes with these kind of events. She showed up in jeans and a sweatshirt, ready to have coffee with friends. We compared engagement rings, talked about wedding planning and both got excited when we find out that we’re getting married on the exact same day.
After I left coffee I did a little running around, including taking my wedding dress to get an estimate on what it’s going to cost to make it fit, before heading back home to wait for one of my beautiful friends, and bridesmaid, to get there so we could make a quick trip to the mall. What’s the point of living 5 minutes from one of the biggest malls in town if you don’t take advantage of it on concert day? We both grabbed up a few sale items to wear that night and then headed home to get ready.
Ben was supposed to go with us to concert, but he ended up having to work it. We still ended up having a great time. This was the first concert that Kaylee and I have gone to together and we had an absolute blast. She’s never met a stranger so she was making friends left and right which made for a good time. We had so much fun that we didn’t really take any pictures of the actual concert. How every out of character for me, I know!
It was fun to know my brother and his girlfriend were there enjoying the show as well. We didn’t see much of each other, but they stayed at our house so we got to talk with them about all the craziness the next morning. Cam, Eric Paslay and Brad Paisley all put on an amazing show. They had us up and dancing the whole night and I’m still trying to get my voice 100% back.
After the concert we grabbed something to eat then went back to the apartment to recap the fun with Dart while sitting on the living room floor and eating ice cream right out of the container. It was a perfect night.
