Since we got engaged I have had people telling me, “you know you don’t have to plan your whole wedding in the first few months your engaged right?” As you can imagine, that got really old really fast. Of course I know that! We are waiting a year for our wedding because I wanted time to be able to get things slowly rather than having to spend a big chunk of money all at once. Not to mention being able to take time to find things and get good deals on them rather than having to pay a fortune for something because we were in a rush.
Today the main piece of my gift to my bridesmaids came in. I ordered them at the beginning of August but they had to be personalized so I just figured that’s what was taking so long and wasn’t really worried about it. I wasn’t even planning on buying them this early, but when I found them at a really good price (normally $25 + $8 to personalize… I got them for $5 + $8 to personalize) I decided to act on it because I don’t exactly have the best track record of things being on sale or available later/when I’m ready to order them. I ordered them in black with the personalization done in hot pink… when I opened the box today they were navy blue with hot pink… oops!
I didn’t even know they made them in blue seeing as how it wasn’t one of the options when I placed my order. Lucky for me I have plenty of time to get them fixed! I called the company and explained the issue. After providing them with the conformation email that I was sent showing that I did in fact order them in black, not blue, they agreed to correct the mistake and said that the replacement items will be sent out next week. Oh, and I can just keep the ones I have because since they are personalized, they can’t resell them. Not really sure what I’m going to do with them, but thanks!
I didn’t really freak out too much when I opened the box because I knew that I had plenty of time to get the mistake fixed. I will admit that I was a little worried once I got on the phone because he said that their records showed that I ordered blue (which wasn’t even an option when I ordered them) and I didn’t know if I had the conformation email anymore and didn’t know if they would fix it without the email. Lucky for me, I found it and all is well… I can’t imagine what I would have done if this would have happened had I waited until way closer to the wedding!
Oh, and I know I didn’t say what the item was, but that’s because some of my bridesmaids read this blog and we can’t have them knowing what their gift is right. Have a good weekend all!
