Everything happens for a reason and sometimes you have to walk past the wrong door to open the right one. Two weeks ago I posted about our decision not to take an opportunity that would have allowed us to be together, but had a long list of cons including putting us 7+ hours from family & friends. It was a hard decision, but we knew it was the right one for us. A few days after we turned down that opportunity, I sent my resume to a company in response to a job posting online. About two hours later I received a phone call from them and did an on the spot phone interview. A few days later I heard back from them and last Friday I went in for a second interview. Monday afternoon I was offered the job!
I formally accepted it yesterday and I will be starting in a few weeks. I am so excited to start this new journey. I will be able to be at home with my man every night. I wont have to put the wear and tear on my car or my back by driving down to the Tri-Cities every week. Not to mention I’ll be able to spend time with everyone when I come there rather than working the whole time I’m here. Starting a new job in Spokane will also allow me to start building some relationships and hopefully make a few friends there. I’ll be honest with you, I have some anxiety about all the new people who I will be meeting, but know that if I can just make it through the first day I’ll be good to go.
I know that I have an emotional few weeks ahead of me as I prepare to say good-bye to the company that has been home, and the people who have become family, for the last 10 years. I’ve been trying to help with the process of finding some to take my place and hope that they’re able to find someone in the next two and a half weeks so that I’m able to help them train him/her.
