Believe it or not, we only have a few weeks left in 2015. So much has happened this year. I’ve changed in some big and little ways. I’ve always been a girly girl of sorts, but spending a lot of money or taking a lot of time with beauty products just wasn’t something I did. Until this year. I got a little more adventurous with my eye shadows and nail polish colors. I advanced in what I use as part of my every day beauty routine both with makeup and skin care. I was introduced to Angela Lanter and Ulta Beauty. A few YouTube videos and shopping trips and that was all she wrote.
With the end of the year right around the corner I thought now would be the perfect time to talk about the top 5 beauty brands and products I found in 2015 and fall in love with.
My obsession with itCosmetics started with the Your Skin But Better™ CC Cream with SPF 50+ and the Bye Bye Under Eye® Anti-Aging Concealer. I bought both of these items and got the No-Tug® Waterproof Gel Eyeliner as a free gift with purchase. I absolutely love the coverage that both the CC Cream and the Under Eye concealer gives. I’ve always had a problem with the dark circles under my eyes and this is the best combination that I’ve used to date.
I have a few things on my wish list from them that I haven’t tried yet. I really want to get the YOUR SKIN BUT BETTER® CC+® AIRBRUSH PERFECTING POWDER SPF 50+ to use as a setting powder over the CC Cream. I also want to try their contouring palette, My Sculpted Face. Dang it! Maybe I should have asked Santa for it.
Over the last few months I’ve stopped going to get my nails done and have started doing them myself at home. So far I’ve only bought two colors. I wore Beyond Cozy for our engagement pictures and have a new-found love for Power Clutch. I have a long list of colors sitting in my wish list. Partner In Crime, Recessionista, The Perfect Cover Up, Bachelorette Bash. They also have a top coat called Matte About You that will make any color have a matte finish that I really want to try! I think it would look amazing with Power Clutch. If you’ve tried it, comment below because I really want to know how you feel about it.
I absolutely love the Night Calming Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes from Neutrogena. I know this is going to sound horrible, but taking my makeup off every night isn’t something that I’ve always been good at. One day Brandi was telling me about the Kirkland brand face wipes that they had bought at CostCo and really liked. I figured what the heck, I would give them a try. I loved how easy it was to wash my face with them in the morning. Then I found these night-time ones and figured I would give them a try. Totally worth it! I only wish I could buy them in bulk at CostCo like I do the ones that I use in the morning. They get everything off, including my waterproof mascara and eyeliner, and I don’t feel like I have to scrub my face to make it happen.
I have always struggled with super dry cubicles. One of the only ways that I have found to keep them from being dry and cracked was to get a gel manicure. Since getting engaged and trying to save money for the wedding I’ve stopped going to get the gel manicures, like I said above. Ben’s mom has a bottle of Cuccio Revitalize Cuticle Oil, Sea Kelp and Tea Tree in the bathroom at their house and she told me to start using it. After just a week I could already tell a huge difference. I put it on at night before bed and sometimes in the morning when I remember. A little bit goes a long way and it smells amazing! I’ve only been able to find it on Amazon, but it’s totally worth investing in.
Eyelid primer is amazing. In case you were wondering. I bought the Magic De-Crease Eyelid Primer by L’ORÉAL to see if it was something that I would even like using and I can tell the difference when I don’t wear it. I normally put it on and set it with a natural color eye shadow. itCosmetics has one that I’d like to try once the current tube I have is gone.
