The wonderful Helene posted a list of things 2014 taught her and I thought it was such a great idea that I decided to make my own list. Yeah, I’m being the blogger that just copies ideas off everyone else. #sorryimnotsory
So without farther ado and in no particular order…
| You can’t control how others act. They are going to do things that have the potential to break you. Let yourself hurt and then pick up the pieces and live your life.
| I don’t care who you are, cake tastes better when you eat it right out of the pan.
| Jennifer Lawrence is still one of my favorite celebrities. What I wouldn’t give to spend the day hanging out with her!
| It’s ok to cry. It doesn’t mean that you’re weak. You can try to hold your tears but eventually you’re going to find yourself crying in the cereal aisle in WalMart.
| Some of the best memories can be made when you’re locked in a car with people for hours driving across the country. Yay for road trips.
| It doesn’t matter how fancy your dress… it’s ok to chow down on donuts.
| This community is AMAZING. The way you’ve all supported me and been there for advice, or just a listening ear has not gone unnoticed. Laura, I cannot express how thankful I am for your friendship. Though we’ve never met you have been there to listen to me complain, to distract me with funny Supernatural pictures and to remind me that I’m going to be ok.
| Gilmore Girls is an amazing show. I watched it off and on when there would be reruns on TV but once it came out on Netflix I really dived into it and I’m so glad I did. Those girls know how to have a good time, support each other and raise a little hell. I see a lot of SS and I in the characters of that show.
| Life is going to throw you curve balls. It doesn’t matter who you are or how hard to try to avoid them, you can’t control everything. You can only control the way you handle what is given to you.
| Lactation cookies are actually really yummy.
| Writing by hand can actually be very therapeutic. Doesn’t matter if you’re writing a letter you never plan to send, a thank you card or just some random ramblings. It’s amazing how clear your mind will feel once it’s on out on paper.
| Electric blankets are expensive. Back in November I bought my first electric blanket and it was like $80!
| My friends are just as weird as I am! I can text them on a Tuesday inviting them to a huge Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday and the only question they’ll ask is “what can I bring?” Aside from that, they support Frosting Wars and my borderline unhealthy addiction to The Hunger Games movies.
| Dressing up for Halloween is actually a lot of fun.
What did you learn in 2014??
