Adventures in Wedding Planning | August

AdventuresInWeddingPlanning

Holy crap y’all. I am getting married in exactly ONE MONTH!!! I feel overwhelmed and calm all the same time. There is still so much to do and yet not that much. The majority of the items left on my to-do list are add-ons. Items that I thought would be nice touches, but aren’t exactly required. If they don’t happen then they don’t happen. Every weekend and weeknight from here until September 24th are pretty much booked up. Looking at last month’s post I’ve only done two of the items I set aside for this month, but the month isn’t technically over yet.

Get to Know Me Through My Blogging Buddies | Krysta

rp_gettoknowme-seriesphoto.png

Talking myself up isn’t something I’m good at. I also have a hard time deciding what y’all want to know when it comes to “About Me” pages. In an effort to help you get to know me better, and not stress myself out in the process, I’ve called on some of my blogging buddies. I’ve asked them a few questions, about me, and asked them to pull together a list of their favorite blog posts from this here blog.

This month I’ve got the one of the first friends I made here in the big city. A sweetheart that I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with a few times, but is always a good time. The one who helped me get this blog switch over to WordPress.org! Say howdie to Krysta!!

29th Birthday Wish List

BakedOccasions_BirthdayCake-thumb-1500xauto-414365

Holy crap y’all. My birthday is quickly approaching and it’s my last one in my 20s! I’m really looking forward to this year because it will be the first one in forever that Ben and I actually get to spend together. Last year we were still living apart and he had to get up and drive back to Spokane at 5am to be at work. This year while we’ll both be working, we will at least be in the same town and able to go out to dinner to celebrate.

No matter how old I get I always make a birthday wish list. You know that you do it too, the difference is that I put mine out there for the public to see. I figure that if people are going to buy me presents I might as well save all of us the time and stress by just telling them what I want. I’m helpful like that. The downfall is that we’re getting married in a little over a month so we’ve also got the wedding registry going on. These are a few items that didn’t make it onto the wedding registry, but are on my want list so they’ve been added to my birthday wish list this year.

Wedding Planning Tips for the Groom

Wedding Planning Tips for the Groom

I can’t believe that we are already into the second week of August. Please tell me that I’m not the only person who feels like this year has just flown by on a rocket. I guess it’s true what they say, time flies when you’re having fun. As most of you know, I’ve been having oodles of fun lately. I am officially into crunch time for my upcoming wedding. Like every other bride, moments after getting engaged – right after the “shit just go real” text messages went out – I took to Pinterest to find wedding inspiration. Something I noticed while there was all the wedding planning tips and checklists that are available. I swear every sixth picture was one promising all the tips I would need to plan the perfect wedding. I’ll be honest, this isn’t my first rodeo so I pretty much scrolled right past those without a second thought. Then came my third thought, where are all the tips for the grooms??

This isn’t the early days of pinterest anymore folks. I know at least a handful of men that use pinterest. Even if they don’t, we all know every bride wants her day to be perfect so you better believe she’ll be printing that list out and not so subtly leave it for her man as a little bathroom reading. Being the nice lady that I am, I didn’t want the grooms to feel left out so I sent out a text to all my married friends and we complied a little list of tips for the grooms out there.

Adventures in Wedding Planning | July

AdventuresInWeddingPlanning

Can you believe that I’m getting married in two months!!! We are closely approaching the one year anniversary of when we get engaged and I am constantly finding myself in awe of all that has changed over the last year. I moved to the big city, we have both changed companies, my brother got engaged and married. It is craziness I tell you. I know that I haven’t shared much on here over the summer and I apologize. I am still trying to figure out a schedule as far as when I have time to sit down and write posts. It seems like every moment is taken up with work or wedding stuff. The few moments that I’m not doing one of those two things, I’m sleeping or trying to enjoy some quality time with Ben. I promise, things will get better starting right now!! I will be taking advantage of the ability to schedule posts and will have at least two posts a week up.

Elvis is Married!!

I know that I’ve been extremely MIA lately, but for good reason. Between helping him with their wedding and putting the final touches on mine I have been super busy. I am happy to say that it has all been worth it, or at least half of it has been, because as of 6:10 Friday evening my baby brother is a married man!!

The day was absolutely great. It was a little rainy so we had to move their reception from the original location to the church and we forgot the  cake in the car so it melted and fell over. None of that seemed to matter though. The smiles on their faces, the love that could be felt and the fact that at the end of the day they were husband and wife was the only thing that mattered. I was lucky enough to be asked to capture this amazing day for them.

That Time I Didn’t Win Sister of the Year

Since my brother got engaged I have found myself thinking a lot about how much he has grown up. With those thoughts comes a flood of memories from times past. Today’s post, or rather story, is one of those memories. A quick reminder that we all make mistakes and that babies are more resilient that you’d think.

This month I’ve got the first blogger that I had the pleasure of meeting in person. I honestly couldn’t tell you when or how we came across each other’s blogs, but I sure am glad that we did. A few years ago when I was in the middle of my divorce and wasn’t able to keep up all the responsibilities that come with being the admin of a blogger Facebook group, she stepped up and took on extra duties no questions asked. Without her our group would have not only suffered, but most definitely sank. We are now up to 130 members and growing every day. She is an amazing mother, wife, blogger and friend.

It’s time to link up with Anne and Jenna and share what’s currently going on. I realize that I’m a week late, but at least it’s going up. Since it’s summer I’ve decided to change my posting schedule to Tuesday and Thursday. Doing two posts a week rather than three will help give me more time to enjoy the summer and focus on wedding planning, plus I don’t like the idea of keeping you glued to your screens when you should be enjoying the nice weather. Now, on to what’s going on around these crazy parts.
